Find Iron County Recent Arrests

Iron County runs no single public booking feed. So a search for who was arrested in Iron County starts with the agency that holds each record. Iron County recent arrests sit in separate places: a new booking at the sheriff's office, current custody at the jail, a later case in court, and past prison time with the state. Iron County mugshots get no official gallery either. A written request to the right office works best. Ask the sheriff for the booking record. Check the jail for current custody. Then follow the court docket to see where the case stands.

Iron County Recent Arrest Channels

The Iron County Sheriff's Office and the Iron County Correctional Facility in Crystal Falls run the county custody path. Neither office posts a searchable inmate roster, a recent-bookings table, or a public photo feed online. A person arrested by Iron River, Crystal Falls, Caspian-Gaastra, the Michigan State Police, or the Sheriff still lands in a county record. The list just stays offline. For a live custody question, use the Sheriff and jail contacts. MI-VINE covers participating custody and court records. FOIA works best when you need a lasting copy. News stories and monthly activity totals serve other purposes. They never amount to a full booking list.

The 24 Hour Arrests page covers the same-day window, and the Arrest Log page tracks the wider publication pattern.

No Public Iron Arrest Feed

The official Jail and Corrections page is the right destination to check. It displays contact details but no public search fields or current-inmate table.

Iron County Michigan official Jail and Corrections page without a public inmate roster

An official jail page is one thing. A working booking-search endpoint is another. Iron County publishes no posting hour, update rate, weekend schedule, photo rule, or online roll-off period. No public feed exists at all. Arrest time, arrival, completed intake, entry into an internal system, and release are separate events. A county Jail Administrator posting mentions Live Scan, a jail inmate booking record, and a JailTracker/Mugshot system. Internal tools, in other words. None of it promises that any record or image will reach the public web.

Note: A blank web search cannot establish that no Iron County arrest occurred or that someone is no longer in custody.

Iron County Jail Roster Check

Iron County publishes no online jail roster. So skip the hunt for live search fields. Instead, gather the identifiers the jail or records office can actually use. Sheriff Ryan Boehmke leads the Iron County Sheriff's Office. Keep in mind the arresting agency and the detention agency can differ.

Detail to provideWhy it helps
Full name and known aliasSeparates similar names
Approximate arrest dateNarrows the intake period
Birth date or ageHelps confirm identity

Call Iron County Correctional Facility first at 906-875-0651. Ask whether that office confirms current custody. If needed, the Sheriff's Office sits at 906-875-0650. Michigan VINE is worth a check, though a blank result proves nothing without an Iron-specific participation list. Want a lasting record or photo? File a narrow county FOIA request.

When Iron Arrests Become Records

Timing in Iron County runs on several clocks, not one. Police may record the arrest first. The jail then handles identity checks, Live Scan, the inmate booking record, property work, and a booking image. A court case can appear after arraignment or filing. MI-VINE gets its information on its own schedule when the agency and record participate. No official source states how long any step takes or whether it ends in a public posting. A missing result is not a fixed delay. One phone call to the jail beats hours of refreshing an unrelated site. A formal request fits better when you need a copy to compare against the court outcome later. How soon does an Iron County mugshot appear online? There is no official public schedule. The internal Mugshot-system reference describes intake work, not display.

Where Iron Arrest Information Appears

Official sources belong at the front of every search. Each one covers a narrow stage, and none replaces the rest. Third-party pages can go stale or drift from the final court result.

RecentlyBooked's Michigan directory lists no Iron County section. Arrests.org, Busted Newspaper, and Mugshots.zone also carry no local Iron County, Michigan area. MichiganArrests.org has an Iron County page, but it ties to no live Sheriff data.

Avoid the Utah Arrest Mix-Up

One prominent "Iron County recent bookings" result actually belongs to Iron County, Utah. The wrong-state booking page names Utah right in its content. The shared county name just makes it look relevant.

Iron County Utah recent bookings page that is not an Iron County Michigan source

Check the state label before trusting any Iron County search result. Michigan's official county domain is ironmi.com. Local offices use Crystal Falls addresses and 906 numbers. Those cues keep a Utah roster from masquerading as Michigan arrest data, and they help flag generic directories that never name a source.

Monthly Arrest Totals, Not Names

The Iron County Reporter prints Sheriff's Office monthly activity summaries. Counts cover arrests, citations, accident reports, and correctional facility commitments. A March 2023 issue added Iron River Police Department numbers. They were broken out by misdemeanor arrests, felony arrests, and misdemeanor warrant pickups.

Those totals show local trends. They will not tell you who sits in the Iron County jail today, since weekly papers and monthly sums never add up to a daily roster. WLUC and WZMQ run selected incident and arraignment stories. These stories sometimes tie an arrest to the Iron County Correctional Facility or District Court. Editorial coverage, though, is never a full custody list.

Recent Arrests by Iron County City

A city police officer often creates the incident or arrest record. The county facility builds the separate jail intake record. These city pages keep those roles distinct.

None of the cities runs a current daily booking feed. Even when a county jail record exists, an originating city record may still call for a city request.

What Iron Arrest Records Show

An arrest record and a jail booking record are cousins, not twins. Iron County confirms it keeps an operational jail inmate booking record. Because no public interface shows which fields a released record carries, treat these fields as a request checklist.

FieldWhat it may show
Name and booking numberIdentity and intake reference
Arrest and booking timesSeparate event timestamps
Arresting agencyOriginating office
Charges as bookedIntake charges subject to change
Bond or holdInitial status to check with court
Facility and custodyWhere the person was held
Release or transferMovement out of county custody
Booking photographIntake image, if maintained and released

Court dates and disposition may live in separate records. Medical data, juvenile identifiers, protected victim details, and investigative files may be restricted from release.

Key terms. Booking is jail intake after arrest. Arraignment is an early court appearance. Bond concerns release conditions. Disposition is the court outcome. A set-aside changes public access to an eligible conviction.

Request an Iron Arrest Record

For a county-held record, go through the official FOIA coordinator instead of asking the county for a custom answer. List each item sought: the booking record, photo, arrest card, incident report, release or bond record, and your date range. The Iron County FOIA page supplies the procedures, the request form, and appeal materials.

Official Iron County Michigan FOIA page with request and appeal links

The official page is the right start for a booking record or photo request.

  1. Identify the person, date range, and arresting agency.
  2. List each record and request electronic delivery when available.
  3. Send it to Mary Dalpra, FOIA Coordinator, Suite 7, 2 South Sixth Street, Crystal Falls, MI 49920-1413, at mdalpra@ironmi.org or 906-875-3301.
  4. Ask for an itemized estimate and the legal basis for withheld material.
  5. Compare booking data with the later court record.

The posted policy gives the county five business days to respond. A single ten-business-day extension is allowed. Payment comes in full before release. A possible deposit of up to half applies when an estimate tops $50. Paper copies max out at $0.10 per letter or legal sheet. Some labor charges may apply. These terms are general policy, not a quote.

Iron County Mugshots and Photos

Iron County publishes no mugshot gallery. There is no official photo feed either. A county job description mentions a JailTracker mugshot system. That is an internal reference, not proof of public access or a fixed release rule. Michigan State Police also notes that agency policy can affect release from its law-enforcement photo repository.

Identify the booking photograph by person and arrest date, then ask the office holding it for a record-specific decision. Michigan case law summarized by the Attorney General treated certain felony booking photos of people awaiting trial as public records on those facts. That ruling does not require a county gallery. FOIA exemptions may also apply.

Unofficial photo pages can omit dismissals, amended charges, or acquittals, so treat them only as leads. No booking photos are reproduced or collected into any gallery here.

Michigan Arrest Law and Removal

Michigan FOIA, Public Act 442 of 1976, MCL 15.231 et seq., opens with broad access to public records but carves out exemptions. MCL 15.243 covers privacy, law-enforcement purpose, custodial security, and other grounds. Juvenile, victim, medical, sealed, and active-investigation information may stay out of open results.

Law context: No statewide anti-pay-to-remove mugshot statute was verified. FOIA, court orders, correction, dismissal rules, and set-aside law are separate paths.

Start any fix with the agency or court that owns the government record. MCL 764.26a sets a dismissal-related process for certain arrest records. It covers biometric data, fingerprints, and repository entries under its conditions. Clean Slate and petition-based set-aside procedures cover eligible convictions. Eligibility is limited by offense type and waiting periods. None of these works as a generic photo-deletion form.

Once an official source changes, a search engine tool can refresh a stale result. On a third-party page, use a published free correction process backed by an official order or disposition. Mugshots.com and RecentlyBooked publish free routes for qualifying requests. Never pay a private publisher as if Iron County or a Michigan court required it. Never send identity documents to an unverified address.

How Long Iron Arrest Records Last

Michigan General Schedule Number 11 gives arrest and detention log data a minimum retention of the calendar year plus five years. Jail inmate jackets, holding booking cards, mugshots, arrest cards, warrants, release forms, and transfer records, stay on file until release plus ten years. These periods govern retention and authorized destruction only. They are not public-web display windows.

A record that drops off a current-custody view may still sit in a jail jacket, court file, police file, or archive. Start with Iron County or the originating city. For older material, the Archives of Michigan county-guide index and Iron County Guide can point to historical holdings. A listing there does not mean a recent booking photo traveled to Lansing.

Note: Request older material before a retention deadline and supply arrest, release, agency, and report dates when they differ.

Crystal Falls Records Hub

Crystal Falls sits at the center of Iron County record keeping. The sheriff and jail work out of Suite 18 at 2 South Sixth Street. FOIA Coordinator Mary Dalpra handles Suite 7 in the same courthouse complex. The courts occupy separate suites of their own. Crystal Falls Police Department is housed at 401 Superior Avenue.

Shared buildings do not mean shared files. Before requesting anything, ask which agency made the arrest. Then check which facility did the booking and which court took the case. That one habit keeps a city police request from landing at the county jail. It also steers custody questions away from the clerk.

Iron Arrests Reach District Court

A booking entry only covers intake. For what happens next, Iron County's 95B District Court is the bridge, from arraignment through later hearings, amended charges, and the final disposition. Clerk Robin Marchildon can be reached at 906-875-0619, with weekday hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Central Time. Through MiCOURT, a search returns county, court, case number, charge, hearing date, and outcome. The system itself notes that online data is not the official court record. Some cases also stay hidden.

Michigan MiCOURT public case search and online-record limitations

A court search can locate and verify a case. It does not mirror jail bookings. Iron County's 95B District Court adopted MiFILE e-filing on November 28, 2023, which hints at where later case documents may sit. Still, a docket is not a live roster. If no disposition appears, do not read one into a bond amount, a booking photo, or an old news story.

Why Arrest Searches Can Be Blank

Every system leaves out records outside its role. MiCOURT restricts certain case types and details. OTIS skips people merely arrested. It also skips those convicted but not yet sentenced, anyone held only in a county jail or city lockup, and those sentenced only to jail. FOIA exemptions and court rules seal juvenile matters, victim information, medical files, and investigative material.

A blank result does not mean no arrest. The person may be newly booked, released, or transferred. They may also be held elsewhere, or missing from a participating VINE feed. Match the search to the custody stage and try again.

Iron Arrest Warrants and Wanted Notices

Iron County publishes no official warrant portal, most-wanted list, reward page, or tip form. It also sets no wanted-photo policy or posting schedule. Skip the unofficial directories that try to fill the gap. MiCOURT can surface a public case, but it is not an active-warrant database.

For court questions, call the District Court Clerk at 906-875-0619. For law-enforcement matters, the Sheriff's line is 906-875-0650. Anyone worried about a warrant in their own name should talk with an attorney. Or the court can explain safe next steps. Tips belong with an official agency line, or 911 in an emergency. Never approach, follow, or threaten a person in a wanted notice. Never post private location details about them.

A warrant can also be served, recalled, corrected, or dismissed as a case moves forward.

Track Custody After an Arrest

Michigan VINE is a free, confidential service. It runs 24 hours a day for custody and criminal-case information. Depending on the record, it can send notice of a release, transfer, escape, court hearing, or case status change. Iron County offers no local booking-alert app. No Iron-specific participation list is published either. Search VINELink with whatever name or identifier you have. Then check the agency listed, and confirm with the jail when timing matters. A no-result there proves nothing. Registration steps and limits are detailed on the VINELink Check page.

State and Federal Custody Searches

The Michigan Department of Corrections runs the Offender Tracking Information System, known as OTIS. It kicks in after a person enters state prison or qualifying supervision. It lists current prisoners, parolees, and probationers. Some people discharged within the past three years appear too. A fresh Iron County jail booking will not appear there. The official OTIS search accepts name, offender number, sex, race, age, status, and identifying-mark fields.

Michigan Department of Corrections OTIS offender search fields

OTIS belongs to state corrections, so any profile photo shown is an MDOC image, not a county booking photo. Federal custody runs on entirely separate systems. The Bureau of Prisons locator covers federal inmates from 1982 forward and searches by name or register number, with no county mugshot gallery attached. ICE's locator takes an exact name and country of birth, or an A-number paired with country of birth. Iron County holds no federal or ICE detention contract. U.S. Marshals guidance offers no public prisoner-photo lookup either.

Booked, Released, or Transferred

The right source shifts with a person's status. Treat time-sensitive custody data as a snapshot, then turn to the record owner for durable proof.
