Why This Guide Exists
Michigan law provides access to many public records, subject to exemptions and record-specific review. The harder task is finding the right custodian. The Iron County Sheriff’s Office and Iron County Correctional Facility create and maintain local custody records, but no official public roster or booking-photo feed was verified. The Michigan Department of Corrections publishes qualifying state-custody and supervision profiles through OTIS, while MiCOURT holds the public path to later hearings and dispositions. County FOIA requests cover existing county records that are not available through a public page.
We organize those official links, explain what each system can and cannot show, and outline focused request steps. We do not host arrest records, inmate lists, or mugshot galleries.
What Readers Can Find
The site is organized around the actual Iron County records trail:
- The home-page records guide, including current-custody contacts, booking fields, mugshot requests, warrants, and removal law.
- Separate same-day and multi-day pages that explain the verified absence of public county booking feeds.
- Instructions for checking Michigan VINE, MiCOURT, MDOC OTIS, and the correct federal locator when custody moves beyond the county.
- Steps for asking Iron County’s FOIA coordinator for a booking record or photograph and checking the court outcome.
Limits of This Site
Iron County Recent Arrests is privately operated. It has no connection to Iron County government, any Michigan sheriff’s office, jail, court, corrections department, or other public agency.
- We cannot release, hold, or transfer a person in custody.
- We cannot post bond, arrange a visit, or send funds for anyone.
- We do not provide legal advice.
- We cannot promise that an address, number, fee, or operating detail has not changed.
Only the responsible jail, sheriff, court, or corrections agency can confirm current custody, charges, or release; this site only identifies source paths.
